Luxexpo Open Air 2026: The Summer Luxembourg Becomes Europe’s Live Music Destination

Every summer, Luxembourg proves that you don’t need to travel to London, Paris or Berlin to experience world-class live music. This July, however, the Grand Duchy is raising the bar once again.

Luxexpo Open Air 2026 is bringing together an extraordinary collection of international artists, transforming Kirchberg into one of Europe’s most exciting concert destinations. Over seventeen days, music fans will be treated to performances from punk legends, global pop icons, funk pioneers and electronic music innovators, making this one of the strongest concert programmes Luxembourg has ever hosted.

The series begins on 1 July when American punk rock veterans The Offspring unleash decades of anthems that helped define an entire generation. Four days later, the unmistakable sound and visual spectacle of Gorillaz arrives in Luxembourg, before Robbie Williams takes to the stage on 6 July with the charisma and showmanship that have made him one of Britain’s most enduring entertainers.

The momentum continues with Jamiroquai, whose infectious blend of funk, soul and acid jazz has filled dance floors around the world for more than thirty years. Rock fans then have their moment as Lenny Kravitz delivers a catalogue of timeless classics before global superstar Katy Perry brings one of the biggest pop productions of the summer to Kirchberg. Closing the season on 17 July is Berlin electronic music pioneer Paul Kalkbrenner, whose immersive live performances have become legendary throughout Europe.

What makes the series particularly remarkable is its diversity. Few venues can offer punk, alternative rock, pop, funk and electronic music within the space of just over two weeks, giving audiences the opportunity to experience completely different musical worlds without ever leaving Luxembourg.

From Trade Fair to Concert Arena

Long before international artists began filling the skies above Kirchberg with music, the site was already an important part of Luxembourg’s cultural and business landscape.

The original Luxexpo exhibition centre opened in 1984, providing the country with a modern venue for international trade fairs, exhibitions and public events. Over the following decades it became one of Luxembourg’s most recognisable venues, hosting everything from business conventions to lifestyle exhibitions and major public gatherings.

A major redevelopment completed in 2015 transformed the complex into today’s modern Luxexpo The Box, creating flexible exhibition halls alongside extensive outdoor spaces. Those outdoor areas would eventually become the perfect setting for large-scale summer concerts, allowing audiences of around 16,000 people to enjoy performances from some of the biggest names in music.

Den Atelier: Thirty Years of Bringing Music to Luxembourg

Behind the success of Luxexpo Open Air is an organisation that has spent decades shaping Luxembourg’s live music scene.

Founded in 1995, Den Atelier converted a former industrial building in Hollerich into an intimate concert venue that quickly earned an international reputation. Over the years it has welcomed hundreds of artists from every corner of the music industry, often giving Luxembourg audiences the rare chance to see globally recognised performers in a venue holding just a few hundred people.

As both the venue and Luxembourg’s appetite for live music grew, Den Atelier expanded its ambitions beyond its own walls. Today it is responsible for promoting concerts across several venues, with Luxexpo Open Air representing its largest outdoor productions and demonstrating just how far the country’s live music industry has evolved.

More Than Just Concerts

The success of Luxexpo Open Air reflects something much bigger than a collection of headline performances. It demonstrates Luxembourg’s growing confidence as a destination capable of attracting major international tours that might once have overlooked the country entirely.

Increasingly, fans from Belgium, France and Germany are crossing the borders to attend concerts in Luxembourg, recognising not only the quality of the artists but also the convenience of the venue and the welcoming atmosphere that has become synonymous with live events in the Grand Duchy.

For local audiences, it means experiencing world-class performances without travelling abroad. For visitors, it offers another reason to discover Luxembourg during one of its most vibrant seasons.

When the lights go up this July and thousands gather beneath the open sky at Kirchberg, it won’t simply be another concert series. It will be another chapter in Luxembourg’s remarkable musical journey—one that continues to grow bigger, louder and more internationally recognised every year.
