Artists aiming to represent Luxembourg at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 can now submit their applications, with a two-month window available to make their case.
The registration phase for the third edition of the Luxembourg Song Contest officially opens this Friday, launching the country’s search for its next Eurovision entry.
Finalists will take the stage at the Rockhal on 24 January 2026 for the national final. The winner will earn the honor of representing Luxembourg at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest, set to be held in Austria in May 2026. The exact host city and date for Eurovision will be revealed next month.
Aspiring participants have until 21 September 2025 to register online for the audition process. Applicants may submit up to three original songs or performance projects through the official digital platform. Each submission must be under three minutes in length and must not have been publicly released or performed before 1 September 2025.
There are no language restrictions for entries, but performances may include a maximum of six individuals on stage, according to broadcaster and contest organizer RTL.
Auditions Set for October
To qualify, artists must meet one of the following criteria: hold Luxembourgish nationality, have lived in Luxembourg for at least three consecutive years, or demonstrate a significant connection to the country’s music scene. Participants must also be at least 18 years old by 24 January 2026 and available from November 2025 through May 2026 for preparations and promotional activities.
Selected applicants will be invited to participate in auditions scheduled for October 2025, where a panel of Eurovision experts will assess the entries. Finalists are expected to be announced by the end of October.
New Collaboration Feature Introduced
In a new initiative designed to foster industry connections, RTL has introduced a partnership scheme aimed at helping artists network with other professionals. A contact list is now available for Luxembourgish artists seeking to collaborate with national or international songwriters. This list remains open until 3 August 2025.
Those who sign up will be able to reach out to one another directly, without intermediary involvement. Any collaborations that emerge from these connections can be submitted for the audition process by the 21 September deadline.
